Austin Pastel Society Paint-Around

Last week four fellow artists and I started our own paintings -- and then spent time "painting around" each others' works! After an hour the five finished paintings were signed by all five of us and sold for our scholarship fund. Here I am working on someone else's Italian landscape; "my" painting was a Martha's Vineyard harbor scene.

Texas Pastel Society Summer Exhibition
Martha's Vineyard Summer Portrait
.jpg)
Melissa Breese, who manages the Old Sculpin Gallery, requested this portrait of her son, Cyrus, to match the one I did of her daughter Susa last summer -- see below. Cyrus posed for two of my portrait classes this summer; he was such a popular subject that the class requested an additional session. In addition to the portrait classes, I also taught still life sessions. We had return visitors from last year, and a number of kids, who were some of the best students.
